At home spa treatments you already have in the pantry

I found this infographic yesterday and put it up on the Herbology Facebook page and when I got up this morning it had gone absolutely nuts.  It has been shared almost 700 times now and  that number still grows.  So I figure that you guys here might wish to see it too.   I just wish I knew who the creator is so I could give due credit.

Great, healthy skin does not need to cost a fortune. Here are some wonderful home made spa treatments for you to try.

Who knew I had spa treatment ingredients waiting for me at home?! It is neat to look up why some of these natural products actually work. I was researching honey on the Natural Standard Foods, Herbs, and Supplements database and learned that honey helps with “epithelialization” (or the process of skin cell turnover). What a great natural ingredient to have in a facial scrub or skin moisturizer! By working in this way, honey is sometimes used to help with wound healing – although the evidence is somewhat limited.

I love using natural products on my face and body. I am also guilty of spending any extra money I find on spa treatments for myself. This post is so great. I love the homemade lip scrub, and I will be making some tonight! I also love the homemade body scrub with honey and brown sugar. As a pharmacy student, I try to limit the exposure my body has to commercial products because I am around them all day in the pharmacy. It is nice to come home and use natural products to clean off and scrub down with.
